Elysian Charter School of Hoboken (New Jersey) is a positively different public school!
One of New Jersey’s original charter schools, Elysian was founded in 1997 by a diverse group Hoboken parents with young children, who shared a sincere interest in public education and an overall commitment to the betterment of the quality of life for children and their families in Hoboken.
Elysian is committed to building an active community of lifelong learners, providing a safe and nurturing environment and educating each and every child to his or her fullest potential. We have two classes per grade (K-8) with 15 students per class.
The Elysian Charter School of Hoboken is a parent, teacher and student community collaborative for children of grades K through eight. The school has created a reflective, child-centered community of active learners who explore their natural and human environments through inquiry-based instruction in interdisciplinary projects that nurture the basic skills, active learning and critical thinking. The school encourages children to learn how to learn, and to ask essential questions as tools to understand and influence the changing world around them.
